The New Engineer-Less Recording Studio is now available to book! Due to the changing needs for recording facilities we have set up a fabulous 'do-it-yourself' Recording Studio within Farm Factory Studios. The basic idea is for you to use the facility as either as an extension of your bedroom/home/garage recording set-up or as a comfortable working enviroment to produce, record or mix your own projects from start to end. We will supply all the basic studio equipment (not instruments) required to record your masterpiece except for the PC or Mac and the recording software, this is for you to bring in your own and connect to our Interfaces etc, however, if the demand is great I will add computer hardware. Both Firewire & USB2 connections will work in the same way with the Motu 896 mkIII Hybrid interface giving you 16 XLR Mic inputs whilst connected to the Focusrite Octopre II via the optical connection, check with your own software to see if it will support up to 16 tracks being recording at once should this be what you want to happen, We have the interface drivers available or you can download them from the Motu website. One of you will need a working knowledge of your own DAW program including Driver Selection, Input & Output choice Set-Up and possibly Monitoring Mixes for overdubs, help will be at hand for the initial equipment set-up and connections, if needed. Bringing in Your Own Studio Equipment. For sessons lasting at least 8 hours or more, if you would like to bring in your own powered monitors, interface or even your line mixer as a preference we should be able to plug them up via our patch bays. Your own microphones are welcome also. Solo Performers. We have added USB & Firewire patching back into the liveroom in case you need to be in the same room as your laptop and 'for instance' your drum kit so you can operate your laptop whilst performing. I will upload a few photos shortly, so please check back! Booking Times For advanced bookings the sessions will be kept to a 4 hour minimum with set time slots listed on the price list PDF file below. If short notice (ie within a couple of days) and with studio availability we may be able to deviate from this and offer shorter sessions or different time slots, booking and security deposits will still apply. Booking Terms - nitty gritty! To make a booking, 25% of the Booked Time will be required to secure the booking, this is non-refundable ONLY if cancelled within 7 days of the first hour booked, the amount will be subtracted from your final amount due. A card security deposit of £500 will ALSO be required before your session begins, regardless of the amount of time booked. This will be returned in full or can be used as payment at the end of the booked time, providing all the equipment is in working, present and undamaged condition. Any equipment broken or stolen will be charged at replacement value. REHEARSAL RECORDING

Two Track Live CD Recording

The Rehearsal Recording facility is a supervised, close mic recording session during a rehearsal, i.e. each individual instrument / amp has a microphone aimed at it, the drum kit has four, a direct feed from the P.A., mixed at source and then recorded in stereo to our PC. You have the option of recording to your own laptop (PC not Apple) as long as our interface is happy with your recording software and it's arranged at the booking stage. We can supply the 2 track recording direct to your USB memory stick or in CD format. The recording can be edited, without loss of quality, should you wish to delete the unwanted material. This is best left to a different day when editing notes can be made by the band. The facility is used for many different reasons, just for fun, pre recording studio warm up, a hard set-list copy, in case of band line up changes! and overall, a working notepad for the band. We do not recommend that this be used for a final production, only for reference, although great results have been achieved.

REHEARSAL RECORDING

£50 extra to your rehearsal charges

Eight Track Live PC Recording

This service is performed in the same way, same studio as the above Rehearsal Recording facility but instead of recording directly to a stereo mixed CD, we will record 8 live individual tracks (ie drums, guitar, bass, vocals etc) to a PC for the purpose of exporting the waves at the end of the session on to your memory stick or portable hard drive. You can then import these files to your own DAW software program for editing, mixing and over dubbing. This service is not offered as a multi-tracking or over-dubbing facility, see the 'Record It Yourself' Recording Studio for this service.

Please be aware all cancellations within 48 hours of booking will result in full payment due, without exception.
Block Bookers within 72 hours.
